“The role of oxygen atoms in supply side economics”

October 16, 2012

The title of this blog is meaningless. It was composed by cognitive scientist Daniel Dennett to highlight scientific reductionism; the abandonment of theory, laws, interactions, and deeper understanding of the connections between chemistry, physics, and biology and even social sciences in an attempt to unify them all into a category, which almost always leads to the idea of social Darwinism. What Dennett is saying, is that to break down theories to their bare minimum, and then to attach them to other broken down bare minimum theories in an attempt to unify them, is meaningless at best, and very dangerous at worst.

Recently, the musician Frank Turner revealed that whilst his fans quite enjoy his apparently left leaning political ideals – he is actually a Libertarian. He accuses people of not understanding politics, if they believe that from this, he is a Republican/Tory. He also claims that Fascism, is a Left wing phenomena. Here:

“To start with, most people don’t seem to understand what the difference between left and right is. For example, the BNP are a hard left party.”

- For those of you who don’t know, the BNP (British National Party) is a fascist political party based on race. It has ties to neo-nazi groups, and its leader Nick Griffin once said:

Without the White race, nothing matters. Other right-wing parties believe that the answer to the race question is integration and a futile attempt to create ‘Black Britons’, while we affirm that non-Whites have no place here at all and will not rest until every last one has left our land.”

- He also denies the holocaust happened, believes that there is a Jewish conspiracy to destroy White Europeans, and is good friends with David Duke. For all intents and purposes, the BNP is a neo-nazi. Fascist, at the very least. Which suggests that Frank Turner believes that Fascism is a product of the Left.

This idea – that ‘National Socialism’ or Fascism are products of the Left – is not new. It represents a deeply reductionist understanding of the political spectrum, dismissing all theory and motive, and ending up with ‘well the Nazi’s controlled the State centrally. And enacted some social protections. As did Communist regimes. Therefore, the Nazi’s are a left wing party‘. It is a very very weak understanding of the difference between Right and Left. For the record, I do not place Fascism on the far right. I think the ‘right’ has changed incalculably over the years. And that both Right and Left are almost entirely different to their early 20th century counterparts. As noted in my previous article, the conservatism of Disraeli is similar to the social democratic principles of a politician like Barack Obama today; of which most of those on the right would consider ‘socialist’, whilst 100 years ago, would certainly not have been. The right has (for the sake of argument, though this assertion is debatable also) become a beacon of free market ideals, mixed with a dose of patriotism/nationalism. In that sense, it is not libertarian, as it seeks to strengthen national borders, rather than diminish them. Libertarianism is specifically the free, unhindered movement of labour, capital and goods. It recognises no national borders.

It is fair to say that Fascism and Socialism may have traits in common; central economic planning for example. But, then, so does Libertarianism and Communism; no government, free association, no borders. But the motives and the differences in organisation are enough to render them entirely at odds. The same is true of Fascism and the Far Left.

Turner seems to be suggesting that central economic planning, means far left. Theory, motive, and overriding political aims are ignored entirely. It is supremely reductionist and ignorant. The blurred lines between left and right when it comes to totalitarian dictatorships are often exploited by both sides. Ignore theory, and motive for just a second, and you can come up with all sorts of comparisons.
We can say that Hitler centralised power, providing a dictatorship of the German people. Marxist-Leninism calls for a similar ruler and control over the economy.
We could say that the Nazi’s use of the term ‘work shy’, followed by punishment for refusing jobs, is eerily similar to right winged austerity rhetoric coming out of the Republican/Tory camp.
We could also point out that Thatcher took on, and crushed the power of the trade unions in the 1980s, as did Reagan. Similarly, after coming to power Hitler banned trade unionism entirely.
Both comparisons miss the point; the reason Fascism differs entirely from the far left, is because it bases its entire being, its essence on a community based on race/nationality. The driving force of history, to Fascists, is shared heritage that must be preserved and perpetuated. The central economy of Fascist States thus works to this end and nothing else. When Hitler replaced the trade union movement and imprisoned German socialist leaders in the mid-30s, he created a new movement in order to control the working classes. He called this the ‘German Labour Force’. The name is significant. Before this, the trade union movement and the German communist/socialist groups associated with it, were international in their scope. They supported their comrades around the World. There were not understood in terms of national borders. Suddenly, they became the ‘German’ labour force. Their whole point, was advancement of the nation state. Alongside this new movement cloaked in patriotism, was a list of ‘un-german activities’. This included striking. Anyone who turned down a job in both the public or private sector was named ‘work shy’ and imprisoned. 8.3% of the unemployed were conscripted. It is important to note that a Fascist State depends on the strength of its armed forces, this is Nationalism, not socialism. Here is a song sung by the new ‘German Labour Force’….

“We demand from ourselves service to the end, even when no eyes are upon us.
We know that we should love our Fatherland more than our own life.
We vow that no one shall outdo us in loyalty,
That our life shall be one great labour service for Germany.
So in this solemn hour we pray for blessing on the oath we take,
We thank thee, Fuhrer, that we have now seen thee,
Do thou behold us as thine own creation?
May our hearts ever beat with thy heart’s pulses, Our lives find inspiration in thy love,
Behold us here! Thy Germany are we.”

- This highlights, again, the difference between Fascism and the far left. The far left bases its existence on class. It stands to obliterate class, ending in a completely classless society. Class is the driving force. Race, nationality, religion, sexuality and most other social constructs are not important. This is in stark contrast to what we see in this song. The German Labour Force had a purpose. That purpose was the advancement of the nation. The line: “We know that we should love our Fatherland more than our own life” is the key to the difference between Fascism and the far-left. The far-left is more often than not, completely obliterated by Fascist forces. The Fascism of Hitler attempted to destroy the far-left…. the Fascism of Saddam attempted to destroy the far-left. Fascism cannot abide the far-left. The two are vehemently opposed.

The Nazi Charter of Labour does not grant total control over the means of production to the workers, as you would expect if the Nazi’s truly were a party of the far-left. Instead, it states that the ‘leader of the enterprise’ (also known as the employer:

“……..makes the decisions for the employees and laborers in all matters concerning the enterprise.”

- This, along with the banning of trade unions, cut wages (from 20.4 to 19.5 cents an hour for skilled labour, and from 16.1 to 13 cents an hour for unskilled labour), the banning of strikes, the outlawing of collective bargaining, and the move to make the labour force a cog in the Nationalist machinery suggests unequivically that referring to the Nazi’s as a far-left party, could not be more ignorant of historical fact and the environment in which the left had to exist under a Nazi leadership.

Let us also not forget who supported, and who opposed Fascism. Communists and Socialists across the World opposed the Nazi’s. Between 1933 and 1939 150,000 Communists were imprisoned by the Nazis purely for being Far-left. A further 30,000 were executed. The oldest Communist party in Germany, the KDP started in 1919 (the biggest outside of Russia) was declared illegal by Hitler in 1933. All Communist publications were closed down. Other Socialist groups – The Baum Group, Red Orchestra, Home Front, the Uhrig Group – were routinely terrorised by the Nazis, imprisoned and executed. In 1944, there was a workers uprising in an attempt to inspire a socialist revolution, in which 200,000 workers were arrested. This isn’t far-left.
And yet, the support seemed to come not only from the Catholic Church, but also from big business. The Fascists in Spain were being aided by Ford and DuPont. Standard Oil also worked with Franco. US Steel and Alcoa supplied the Fascists with steel.
An exert from the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary in 1974 stated:

In Germany, for example, General Motors and Ford became an integral part of the Nazi war efforts. GM’s plants in Germany built thousands of bomber and jet fighter propulsion systems for the Luftwaffe at the same time that its American plants produced aircraft engines for the U.S. Army Air Corps….
Ford was also active in Nazi Germany’s prewar preparations. In 1938, for instance, it opened a truck assembly plant in Berlin whose “real purpose,” according to U.S. Army Intelligence, was producing “troop transport-type” vehicles for the Wehrmacht. That year Ford’s chief executive received the Nazi German Eagle (first class).
On the ground, GM and Ford subsidiaries built nearly 90 percent of the armored “mule” 3-ton half-trucks and more than 70 percent of the Reich’s medium and heavy-duty trucks. These vehicles, according to American intelligence reports, served as “the backbone of the German Army transportation system.”….
After the cessation of hostilities, GM and Ford demanded reparations from the U.S. Government for wartime damages sustained by their Axis facilities as a result of Allied bombing… Ford received a little less than $1 million, primarily as a result of damages sustained by its military truck complex at Cologne.

- Are we saying that GM, and Ford are also far-left? Seriously?

Glenn Beck once claimed that ‘social justice’ was a term used by both the left and the Nazis, in an attempt to draw links between the two. And yet, one of the main strands of Nazism; harsh restrictions on trade unionism was adopted by the American Right Wing of which Beck belongs. It is illegal in the US for unions to ask other unions to picket alongside them. In 2001 a contractor named Ruzicka Electric hired to build a student centre at Lindenwood University were picketed by the union representing their staff for paying too low wages. In support of the union, other unions working at Lindenwood picketed alongside them. The Eighth Court and Supreme Court ruled that:

The picketing will be unlawful if there is an expectation or a hope or a desire that employees of the secondary employer will be induced or encouraged to take concerted action to quit working behind the picket line…Ruzicka Electric presented evidence that Local 1 agents, acting as observers at the neutral gate, engaged in picketing activity, asking neutral employees to refuse to work. If believed, this evidence establishes Local 1 engaged in unlawful secondary activity.

- It is thus illegal to ‘expect’ or ‘hope’ that another union might picket alongside your union. If Beck was truly anti-Nazi, he would recognise that limits to unionism is not only undemocratic, it is totalitarian in principle.

Motive is the key.

Economic centralising is meaningless without a purpose. The purpose of the Fascist centralised state is perpetuation of the Nation based on perceived heritage – be it race, religion, or any other man-made social phenomena that they claim is a natural way to order society. All economic planning in a Fascist centralised economy is geared toward the advancement of the Nation. It is a war economy. By contrast Left wing economic centralisation does not hold the Nation, or race to be a great natural truth that must be protected and advanced. It works to create a more equal society based on wealth distribution. It is international in its approach to social relations, and has absolutely no regard for perceived social heritage.

The Nazi’s certainly pushed social policies, and abhorred Capitalism when it suited them (we can call this left wing, if we wish), but they also promoted Nationalistic principles (we can call this right wing, if we wish). We can find Left leaning policies and rhetoric coming out of Fascist States, we can just as easily find Right leaning policy and rhetoric coming out of Fascist States.

Turner, whilst insisting that it is the rest of the World that doesn’t particularly understand political spectrum, makes a hugely ironic mistake. In an interview with ‘Moon and Back music’, he says:

“I consider myself a libertarian”

And yet, in 2011, in an interview with ‘Huck Magazine’ he says:

“I’ve got no problem with using taxes to pay for essential things like defence or the basics of a healthcare system.”

- It is my understanding of Libertarianism, that they believe taxation to be evil. A Libertarian system would include no taxation whatsoever. No healthcare system. No publicly funded anything. Libertarianism calls for free association without state coercion. It is the belief that taxation is theft (seriously ridiculous) and all government should be voluntarily funded, rather than collectively (because collective = evil). It is based on the premise that all wealth is individually obtained, and that the owner of wealth has no duty toward the rest of society. It is the ultimate in Hobbesian hell. A Libertarian’s fundamental beliefs are that individuals should be free to acquire property, without any State coercion, and form voluntary associations paid for by the individuals within the group, if they wish. The moment you believe in a tax payer funded program of any sort, you are not a Libertarian. Frank Turner is not a Libertarian, if he believes in any sort of state funded ‘basics of a healthcare system’. He’s just a little more Right Winged than Thatcher.

Turner makes the very fundamental mistake that a lot of commentators make when they attempt to attribute labels to political ideas; they reduce the complexity of methods and motives and aims and the roles of institutions, down to their simplest explanations. They do this, because they fail to note that ideology is dogmatic; free from the context in which they are placed. Whether a country be rich, poor, racist, liberal, democratic or totalitarian…. to ideologues, it doesn’t matter. We see this in the way that Communism was forced upon a largely unprepared agricultural Russia in 1917. The Nazi’s were neither a party of the left, nor the right. They incorporated methods for both, their motives were strictly Nationalistic, their aims were oppressive if they came into conflict with anti-Nationalist forces. This is neither a doctrine permitted by Marxism, or promoted by Friedman-ite New Right. Whilst the far-left strives for human equality, Nazism strived for human inequality in which the group (white German’s in this case) are superior.

Frank Turner, does not understand the very basics of political thought.

During the Bush years, Keith Olberman of MSNBC called Bush a Fascist. During Obama’s Presidency, Fox News have attempted to draw links between Obama and Fascism. It is simply propaganda in a simplistic attempt to discredit the Right or the Left, using very loose comparisons lacking any sort of context, without much thought and absolutely no analysis, drawn from flawed reductionism.

The power of rhetoric

September 28, 2010

When I was a toddler, I decided normal human words were not good enough, and so I invented my own words, for reasons I am unable to provide an adequate reason for. The remote control for the TV, I referred to as an ‘Ah Ah Ah’. My dad still calls it that. A spider, was a buru. And Santa, was Ge-a. I do not understand what made me see a spider, and say “Oh, there’s a buru.” It isn’t even like I attempted to say spider, and got it wrong. Buru sounds nothing like spider. There is no species of spider called a Buru. In fact, Buru is a tiny island in the Maluku Province of Indonesia.

In my defence, I was creating my own language. I didn’t need your English bullshit language, in which the plural of house is houses but the plural of mouse isn’t mouses. I wonder, how far would I have gone, had I not been taught English as soon as I started school? Would I have came up with my own vocabulary? Would I have came up with my own words, for situations that even the English language doesn’t have words for? I would absolutely love a word for the fact that the only door in the history of the World that doesn’t have a top or a bottom, is a door to a public toilet cubicle; the one door you want a top and bottom to exist, through fear that a friend might appear over the top, with a Phone camera, and ending in you having to close your facebook account. Surely that situation is enough to warrant a word? I would have came up with a name for that situation, had I been able to develop my own language.

Instead, I would just make my dad sing ‘heartbeat’ from behind the door, whilst he held my baby sister above the door, so it looked like she was really tall and singing. I was 2. Apparently, I found it fucking hilarious.

I was awesome.

Anyway, the point of this blog is the power of the spoken word. The Greeks and the Romans knew exactly how important it was. It was a tool used by the political and religious classes, to manipulate the population into doing exactly what they wanted. Cicero perfected the art of rhetoric. The three main devices used by the Orator, are pathos, logos and ethos. They are all features of manipulation. Pathos is defined as an appeal to the emotion of the audience. Logos refers to reasoning and logic. Ethos means to appeal to an audience’s sense of National pride, or Religious beliefs, or a Political ideology…. in other words, appealing to an abstract sense of community.

We see it politically all the time. John McCain during the run up to the 2008 Presidential Election gave a speech against Universal Healthcare in which he claimed that the British NHS refuses to treat patients over 75. Gasps of shock from the audience resonated throughout the hall. Political rhetoric that is simply untrue. I know it was an horrendous lie, and a manipulation of the audiences naivety, because my 83 year old grandma was being treated by the NHS, on that very day. To get away with such a ridiculous lie, and not be booted out of politics for it, shows just how nonchalent we have become politically. We don’t bother to check our facts, we simply wait for a politician to tell us. And the politicians know how useful this tool has become.

The Conservate-Lib Dem coalition defends every pointless cut it makes, by starting the answer with “as a result of the legacy of debt left by Labour”. Seriously, when you see a Tory or Lib Dem being interviewed, see how long you can count before they mention the “legacy of debt“. Simon Hughes of the Lib Dems got to 23 seconds today. Record! It is an attempt to justify, what they clearly are not comfortable justifying using the truth; their own ideology. BBC News asked a guy in a pub, what he thought so far of the Coalition. He said that they need to desperately get the debt reduced quickly. The journalist asked him why he thought that was. He couldn’t answer. Now, to me that suggests that he had simply heard time and time again the right winged rhetoric of the Tory Party, and thinks he sounds intelligent, if he simply repeats it. It shows that the Tories really did win the political discourse war, not with reasoned debate, but with easy terms, idiots can understand. He doesn’t bother checking facts for himself. Given that the Tory Party won the most seats at the election, it suggests that a large majority of people who will be badly hit by the cuts to public services over the next few years, voted Tory because they kept hearing the apocalypse-type rhetoric that public spending needed cutting immediately, or we’d all die. The Labour Party were useless at providing a differing opinion; a progressive narrative, and they paid for it. The current Labour leadership battle is nothing of any worth. The same centrist politicians who have been on the scene for at least the past five years, using the same rhetoric they use to win votes rather than challenge the centre-right monopoly on political and economic discourse that has become prevalent in recent years. None of them seem to be real progressives. On subjects like immigration for example, they pander to the Right and the media perception. It is a supremely complex issue, that deserves more than one view that only ever says there is a huge problem. They aren’t putting forward different, progressive views, or challenging the mainstream opinion. They are pandering.

On immigration, from both sides of the political scale, all we hear is that it is a problem. Immigrants are labelled illegal and dangerous. They apparently take our jobs and the only way to deal with it, is to ‘secure the borders’. That isn’t progressive. That is simply tying a weak bandage over a very deep wound. To truly deal with immigration, you have to work internationally to find out why mass migration occurs. Firstly, you have to accept that if your borders are open to capital and goods, closing your borders to labour is always going to cause huge Global inequality. Capitalism and Nation States are vastly incompatible. You need to truly be committed to eradicating poverty. You have to work internationally to force working standards across the World based on human rights. You have to allow smaller producers a better chance at survival against huge Western Corporations. You have to spread democracy that isn’t just about creating puppet governments who will open native markets to America business interests. There has to be a joint effect across the World, to fight global inequality. Then, migration will fall. Guaranteed.

What worries me, is that there has been an obvious systematic attempt to undermine all sections of the public sector, whilst keeping the failings of the private sector as quiet at possible. The vast majority of the British Public quite obviously felt uneasy at this, and didn’t buy into it at first, because during the most unpopular Labour government in generations, the Conservatives STILL didn’t manage to secure a majority. I would argue that they have no mandate to push through tough cuts now. The Liberal Democrats and the Labour Party both ran their election campaign on the idea of slower and less vicious cuts that the Tories proposed. The combined votes of the Labour Party and the Liberal Democrat Party added up to just over 15,000,000. The Tories vote count, was just over 10,000,000. Therefore, 5,000,000 more people in the UK wanted slower and less vicious and less deep cuts than is now happening. We are hardly a beacon of democracy right now. So the idea that the British public felt that Labour had forced this horrendous debt that needed cutting deeply, immediately, was wrong.

The rhetoric works. The constant “We’re all in this together” from George Osbourne makes me squirm, and yet apparently people lap it up. I cannot understand why.

The reason people are so easily political manipulated, is because we simply don’t have time to understand and investigate for ourselves. We rely on what the politicians tell us around election time, and the Party with the loudest voice becomes the voice of truth, which is surely a logical fallacy. The loudest voices in the corridors of Whitehall, are those who represent money interests. Rich interests. Therefore those who tax avoid will always be less important to the political classes, than those who have no voice yet scrounge a few extra pound every month in benefits. And then the rhetoric starts. You’re an evil socialist if you think differently. You’re a communist if you suggest Big Businessmen should express some responsibility and not walk away with millions upon millions in bonuses whilst making thousands of workers redundant. It stinks of bullshit. Joined with our lack of time, and our indifference toward the continuously projected rhetoric (I believe it’s known as an appeal to ridicule), we are also……ya know……like……. totally……. like……….not bothered…….ya know………. because….. like we just…………want to……….get well drunk and stuff……..like……yeah? The poet Taylor Mali sums up what I am getting at beautifully, with:

“And so actually our disarticulation . . . ness
is just a clever sort of . . . thing
to disguise the fact that we’ve become
the most aggressively inarticulate generation
to come along since . . .
you know, a long, long time ago!”

An inarticulate mass, is a disinterested mesh of people whose lives consist of jobs they don’t like, long hours they wish they had more to themselves in their short lives, and one holiday for two weeks a year to look forward to and nothing else. It is no wonder we allow Politicians to presume to tell us that things will get better when they are in power. We will never be happy because our economy which is based almost entirely on consumerism (hence the easy credit bubble) ensures that we believe we will only be happy if we buy more shit we don’t need. Happiness can never depend on how much you own, only on how little you need.

I wonder if those poorer people who voted Tory know that the Tories wanted to ride the recession out with no stimulus or help for them. A large majority of them would have lost their jobs, and their homes had the Tories been in power. Not only that, but David Cameron voted against minimum wage legislation. He didn’t want minimum wage. I wonder if those poorer people knew that before they voted for him. The rhetoric worked, because it was the loudest and most coherently constructed. It didn’t matter that it was full of illogic and lies, because there was no opposite coherent message to counter it. And it has been that way for generations. Before elected politicians; we had Kings and Nobles; Cardinals and Popes who had supreme power, and they used Religious rhetoric (the Pope still does) to scare, and coerce, and manipulate at will. No one opposed it, because to do so would have meant certain death for heresy.

In 1517, Pope Leo X offered to sell pardons for sin, in exchange for a lot of money, in order to build St Peter’s. So poorer people, thought this was an easy way to heaven. It was actually just a way for the Catholic Church to build it’s power, and actually quite a novel way, given that it had spent the previous few centuries building it’s power, on violence and blood.

Skip a few centuries down the line, and the Pope has the nerve to refer to people like me as being a problem because I don’t believe in Organised Religion; whilst at the same time, telling people in AIDS ridden African Nations that hang on his every word, that condoms actually spread AIDS, and that God doesn’t accept condom use. Church rhetoric is far more dangerous than political rhetoric, because people do not do there own research, or think for themselves when it comes to politics or the Church, the difference is that the Church promotes ignorance, and unquestioning acquiescence.

World War II was the era of big, lasting, epic speeches filled with manipulative rhetoric. Hitler was arguably the king of propaganda through speech. He managed to turn an entire Nation against a minority, in much the same way as the American Right are doing with Islam right now, only better. Churchill was an excellent speaker. In a speech to the House of Commons in 1940 he said:

You ask, what is our policy? I can say: It is to wage war, by sea, land and air, with all our might and with all the strength that God can give us; to wage war against a monstrous tyranny, never surpassed in the dark, lamentable catalogue of human crime. That is our policy.

What Churchill decided to ignore, was that he was correct in referring to the Nazi regime as a monstrous tyranny, the British were at that time an Empire ourselves. The lands we owned were won by enslaving populations, murder and rape of the land. The reason I, and the rest of the UK is in a strong economic position in relation to most of the World, is due to the fact that we had a solid grounding based on exploitation that was still going on quite horrifically in Churchill’s time, and of which he was a supporter. We carved up Africa into Nations, based not on the hopes of the population, but on what best suited our imperialist vision and that of France.

We are made to believe that one ruler in government, telling us how to run our lives, is bad. It is big bad intrusive government; tyranny. But, when big business does it, and when our workplace tells us what it means to look and act in an abstract concept of “professional”, how to talk, how our faces should look, what jewellery we can wear, it is perfectly fine. It is the height of human freedom. When we work hard and government taxes us, we consider it to be a great evil. When business takes the money we have earned in a shift, and the majority goes to the man at the very top whilst we receive the bare minimum; it is great, it is ‘free’. Business is in essence, pretty totalitarian. It is a dictatorship. It is lots of little Stalinist states run by megalomaniacs. It certainly isn’t freedom.

In Australia, all I heard from Tony Abbott, was “Omg Labor’s debt is awful ARGH! Vote for me, to save you all from economic ruin“. The problem was, within three minutes of research, one comes to the inevitable conclusion, that the right winged Mr Abbocare if the way we carved up the map of Africa would provoke countless tribal wars and ethnic cleansing over the decades, we cared only for what suited us economically. If Africans suddenly rose up and wanted out of British control, we suppressed them with violence. We favoured dictatorial ethnic minorities in African nations because they had vicious hierarchical systems and so could be brought on side to help the Colonialists; the Fulani in Nigeria is a good example of this at work. The entire Empire, even during Churchill’s time, was based on the idea of social darwinism; we believed we were superior to the Africans and so had every right to exploit them. Would Churchill not consider this a ‘monstrous tyranny’ also?

Cicero would not be proud of the American Right Wing. The Tea Party brigade. The Glenn Beck obsessed idiots. They are playing the rhetoric game all wrong. It is not subtle, or intelligible, or even well crafted manipulative bullshit. It is just utter bullshit. Almost laughable. The Tea Party brigade have referred to Obama as a Nazi, a racist, a Communist, a Socialist, an immigrant, and an anti-American terrorist sympathiser. It stinks of bitterness, because this level of anger was never thrown at the most evil and horrific President America has had, well, ever: Bush. They seemed to keep quiet then. It feels simply that big business has funded a campaign to suggest that any universal benefit to the entire population that inevitably bites into their immense profits, is only turn America into some new USSR. It isn’t. But the voice of the enraged Right Wing is the loudest, and so history is rewrote to the will of the loudest.

The American Right Wing has a thing about rewriting history, in their favour. Any fact that seems to contradict them, they suggest is just Marxist propaganda. In Texas, the school board voted in favour of a curriculum that teaches the superiority of American Capitalism. No economists or historians were asked for their opinion on the curriculum. It will also try to inject creationism into science teaching. This annoys me the most. Purely because evolution is not a Right vs Left issue. It is fact. It is like trying to suggest in a school text book that actually, gravity might not exist at all. The religious fundamentalists do not seem to be able to differentiate between the word ‘theory’ in every day use, and ‘theory’ in scientific use. ‘Theory’ in scientific use is the explanation to explain the fact. So, gravity is the fact – that everything falls to earth if you drop it. Einstein’s theory, is currently what we use to explain why that happens. Similarly, evolution – being the idea that we are all descended from a common ancestor, is the fact. The theory that we currently use to explain it, is Natural Selection. In fact, the entire field of modern biology and medicine, is based on this. So when those board of education members get sick, they should perhaps pray instead of being treated by evil leftie evolutionary heretic doctors. To implant their skewed understanding of the World into a text book, for future generations to be indoctrinated with, is surely wrong at best, and pretty damn abusive at worst.

Southern America during the Civil War managed to convince very poor people, to fight for the right of their rich counterparts to own slaves. They billed it as a war over States rights. Yes, States rights to own and exploit black people. It’s odd because the North wanted slaves to be free. For some reason, southerners believed this would flood them out of the jobs market, and black people would now take all the work. The irony of the situation is that the black slaves already had their jobs. If i’m a rich man in Southern America and I can get a black slave to work my land for free, or pay a poor white man to do it, i’m obviously going to pick option one. So i’m so far unaware of why poor white people were so up for fighting on the side of the rich white folk. I’d suggest it was purely racist reasons. A form of racism that was created specifically to stop the poor white folk from joining hands with the poor black folk and fighting these rich bastards who held them both down.

President Bush spent eight years telling Americans that if they didn’t support the horrific imperialist ideals of the Republican administration, the torture, the innocent deaths and the illegal expensive wars; they were un-American. And now, we have a generation of Americans who seem to think that keeping quiet and waving a flag chanting U.S.A whilst their President wastes billions of killing innocent people in multiple countries, is the American way; but trying to correct a healthcare system that benefits no one but insurance companies, is un-American and Marxist. The power of rhetoric.

I have a new policy, of assuming that all politicians are the pocket of business and so will never say or do anything to benefit the population. That all business men are bastards from the day they are born, and have some kind of deeply totalitarian needs. And that spiders should be renamed ‘buru’.

The Pope in Britain

September 16, 2010

The Pope is in the UK for less than 24 hours, and he’s already calling the majority of us Nazis. The ex-Nazi Youth member, who brought back into Catholicism a bishop who claims the holocaust never happened and Jews are the enemy of Christ; the Pope turned leader of a mass child sex cover up, said:

Even in our own lifetime, we can recall how Britain and her leaders stood against a Nazi tyranny that wished to eradicate God from society and denied our common humanity to many, especially the Jews, who were thought unfit to live.
I also recall the regime’s attitude to Christian pastors and religious who spoke the truth in love, opposed the Nazis and paid for that opposition with their lives. As we reflect on the sobering lessons of the atheist extremism of the twentieth century, let us never forget how the exclusion of God, religion and virtue from public life leads ultimately to a truncated vision of man and of society and thus to a reductive vision of the person and his destiny.

It’s an often repeated manipulation, that Hitler was Atheist. He wasn’t. Nor did he wish to strip the State of religious influence. I’d go further, and suggest that centuries of anti-Jewish sentiment spewed by the Catholic Church, had far more influence on the anti semitic sentiment in Germany of the time, than non-belief ever had.

Hitler in 1922, said this:

My feelings as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter. It points me to the man who once in loneliness, surrounded only by a few followers, recognized these Jews for what they were and summoned men to fight against them and who, God’s truth! was greatest not as a sufferer but as a fighter. .. How terrific was His fight for the world against the Jewish poison.

Hitler in 1933, said this:

“Today they say that Christianity is in danger, that the Catholic faith is threatened. My reply to them is: for the time being, Christians and not international atheists are now standing at Germany’s fore. I am not merely talking about Christianity; I confess that I will never ally myself with the parties which aim to destroy Christianity.”

Hitler, also in 1933, said this:

“We were convinced that the people needs and requires this faith. We have therefore undertaken the fight against the atheistic movement, and that not merely with a few theoretical declarations: we have stamped it out.”

Hitler in 1934, said this:

“National Socialism neither opposes the Church nor is it anti-religious, but on the contrary, it stands on the ground of a real Christianity.”

In 1939, Cardinal Orsenigo was sent by Rome to celebrate Hitler’s birthday. Pope Pius XII started an annual birthday celebration tradition for Hitler in fact. The Catholic Church each year would send “warmest congratulations to the Fuhrer in the name of the bishops and the dioceses in Germany”.

Here are some lovely Catholic Bishops, showing their love for The Nazis.

- You can tell they’re not Atheists, because we wouldn’t wear such pathetically elaborate costumes.

Here is a page from a German kids book, made by the Nazis:

It reads:
When you see a cross, then think of the horrible murder by the Jews on Golgotha..
Anti-Jewish propaganda, pointing out that Christians have a duty to hate Jews. Atheists didn’t say this. We didn’t want this.

In 1933, the Vatican and the Nazis signed the ‘Reich Concordat’ which in exchange for the Pope’s power over Catholics in Germany, meant that the Vatican would encourage Catholics in Germany to leave politics (at that time, they were very powerful) and allow the Nazis to centralise power, with no opposition. This allowed the Nazis to take full control of the Country, and progress to the next level, and we all know how that turned out. The Vatican said nothing on the issue. According to writer John Cornwell:

“On July 14, 1933, after the initialing of the treaty, the Cabinet minutes record Hitler as saying that the concordat had created an atmosphere of confidence that would be “especially significant in the struggle against international Jewry.” He was claiming that the Catholic Church had publicly given its blessing, at home and abroad, to the policies of National Socialism, including its anti-Semitic stand.”

In 2009, the Pope lifted an excommunication on a Bishop who is an out of the closet Holocaust denier. Bishop Richard Williamson, whom this Pope brought back into the fold of Catholicism, the same Pope who tells we Atheists that we are Nazis, claimed that Jews were the “enemies of Christ“. He blames Catholic Church corruption, on Jews. He claims Jews are fighting for World domination. He claims there is no evidence that 6 million Jews died in gas chambers in Nazi Germany. The Pope brought him back into the Catholic fold.

Perhaps the Pope should spend less time referring to Atheists as Nazis, and more time trying to rid his Church of systematic sex abuse, anti-semitic bishops, and changing its horrific stance on AIDS in Africa.

The British Way!!!

April 27, 2010

Those wonderful nazis over at the BNP are at it again.
In their manifesto, they say they wish to legalise guns, kill drug dealers, censor TV, deport anyone who they don’t consider to be “English” and make it an offence to promote racial equality and integration in schools.
They claim they can use money saved from withdrawing foreign aid (They have to be the only people in the World who think it’s okay to let Africa starve), to eradicate ALL unemployment, make the NHS the best in the World, fully pay off the National debt, and resettle all immigrants back to where they came from. Page 56 claims science is of critical importance. But green energy and biotechnology is going to be scrapped under a BNP government. In short, as usual, they make no sense.

There is a group of Facebook entitled: “BNP lets get our country back!!!
Now, ignoring the ironic grammatical issues of a group that considers itself a defender of the Country whilst effortlessly destroying the language of that Country, let’s take a brief look at some of the PRO BRITISH comments they have on there, shall we?

” Not Racist …… just want my country back”
- From whom? The guy who wrote this, looks about 15, and is a chav. If it’s “his” country, I want to leave it. I don’t want people like him running this place. And when exactly did he “lose his country” in the first place, in the brief time he has lived here (which he did not achieve, he was born here out of luck)? Who to? Those evil Muslims? I guarantee he wont have an issue with the Americanisation of England. Our banks failed, because American banks failed. Our kids are fat, because America gave us McDonalds. But that’s okay. Because they’re white.

BNP ALL THE WAY ANY IMGRANT GOTTA SAY SOME THINK THEN SAY IT CZ IM IN MOOD FOUR YA COZ ITS ABOUT TIME USE FUCK OFF HOME AND WE HAVE HAD ANOUTH OF YA ! WHY SHOULD WE GIVE YOU U FREE HOUSES AND FREE MONEY AND ONLY REASON YA STILL HERE IS COS THE BNP AINT IN POWER ABOUT TIME BRITISH PEOPLE COME FIRST !!!
- This guy is 20. In his twenty years, he has decided that the English language is not up to his standard. I mean, it has latin, Celtic, French and other DIRTY FOREIGN languages mixed in. Apart from that, I have absolutely no idea what any of that actually says. If anything, it is proof of evolution working in reverse.

being a treated like a minority in your own country is some fucked up shit
- How are we being “a” treated like a minority? In what way? The fact that you’re free to sit on facebook and actually type that whilst joining meaningful human rights groups like “the stig should be in next years im a celeb”, suggests your life isn’t all that bad.

THESE PEOPLE ARE ACTUALLY ALLOWED TO VOTE.

On a comment about enjoying St Georges Day:
how can we with all the muslims everywhere infecting everything
- Those damn Muslims, infecting EVERYTHING. I drank a tea earlier, with sugar, muslim aids, and milk. It was horrible. But, luckily, I drank alcohol, watched football, got into a fight, spat at a black man, and then burned any form of dictionary that might improve my vocabulary…… the BNP way.
Funnily enough, the only people to want to actually cancel St Georges day in it’s entirety, were firstly King Edward VI, who saw it as a day celebrating the life of a Catholic hero, which was considered heresy. And secondly, Cromwell, because he despised any kind of idol worship. There’s a statue of Cromwell at Parliament. How comical.

“BNP BNP BNP BNP BNP BNP BNP BNP ALL the fukin way nooooooo pakias”
- I’m not sure what “pakias” is. If you type it into google, you get directed to a trucking company from El Paso Texas. Why the BNP would have a problem with a small town trucking company in El Paso, is beyond me. Still, logic isn’t something they know too much about. For those who are interested, Pakias was established in 1995, and has an annual revenue of less than $500,000.

fukin wota group no durty pakiz – bnp all fukin day !!!
- Courtney Pakiz starred in Vanilla Sky, which was fucking awful. So I have to agree with this. NO MORE COURTNEY PAKIZ!!!!

i just like to say b.n.p. all the way ,islam and immigrants must go back for the country and our kids futures ,we are stretched to the hilt ,also take the u.a.f. tree huggers ,GOD BLESS YOU AND GOD SAVE THE QUEEN ,THE REST SHOULD HANG FOR TREASON.
- YES! Hang anyone who isn’t a racist and fucking stupid, for treason. Only allow people who haven’t grasped basic English grammar, to procreate! That’s what England truly needs! A nation of idiots! And anyone who isn’t a racist, is a tree hugger! Which, actually means we give a shit about the environment. He wishes to send all the immigrants home, and then ironically blesses the Queen. The Monarchy itself, hasn’t been 100% British, well, ever. Henry VII’s grandmother, Catherine, was French. Her great-grandson King Henry VIII married a Spaniard, whose child Mary became Queen. A mix of English, Spanish, and French. James I also had French blood in him, and then married Anne of Denmark. Her son became King Charles I of England, who married Henrietta Maria of France, who was mother of Charles II and James II. King William II was born in the Hague. Queen Anne married Prince George of Denmark, and so it goes on…and on….and on….. GOD BLESS THE NOT SO ENGLISH MONARCHY!

herd bout this .. not aloud to wear your england tshirt in a pub when the world cup is on and your not aloud to fly england flags”
- Who needs an “A” in the word “heard”. The A was holding the rest of the word back anyway. No, pubs have not banned England shirts for the World Cup. Certain pubs have banned all sports wear, because it can provoke fights. It isn’t because it might upset a muslim who wants to rape your children. It is because the business owner, doesn’t want his pub getting a reputation for inviting thugs. And I have an English flag. The place I work at, flies an English flag. At no point has anyone complained. Including the huge amount of foreign people who are over here on business. And at no point, has anyone demanded it be taken down. Perhaps the Daily Mail say otherwise.

Whilst I would never vote Tory out of principle, David Cameron, quite rightly said this, on St Georges day:
“Today we are celebrating St George’s Day, and we are reclaiming St George’s Day as an important day I think for good reasons.
And one of the most important reasons is that we should be reclaiming the flag from the BNP and saying the flag belongs to the English people, all of them.”

Couldn’t agree more.

I do not want a country run by thugs. I do not like those thugs telling me what it means to be English. I will come to my own conclusion.
Vote for England. Do not vote BNP.

The best of worst of Britain

June 7, 2009

Thankfully, and with great admiration for my parents, I was brought up to view people as just that, people. I was not brought up to distinguish people, like breeds of animal, based on race or cultural background. I was brought up to respect the differences between us, whether white or black or Asian; gay or straight; Christian or Muslim. We’re all human, we’re all reliant on each other. It is humanity that has made great breakthroughs socially, scientifically, and medically, not a particular race. As a result of my liberal upbringing, the idea that we must “preserve” the “white race” is as ridiculous as claiming to be desperate to preserve the blue eyed race.

The local elections, pushed the agenda of the British National Party to a much bigger audience, angered at the recent expenses scandal and the growingly powerless Prime Minister. They certainly look set to make gains in the E.U Parliament, come tonight’s results, which will indeed put added pressure on the Prime Minister, and Alan Johnson over at the Home Office.

The most abhorrent political Party to exist in the U.K at the moment, preying on the Working Classes, gained a seat in Leicestershire’s, Coalville Council. It saddens me, because this is the City I grew up in. I love the diversity. The Diwali celebrations that attract thousands to the City every year, is great for cultural awareness, education, and the local economy. It’s a mixed culture, I’m privileged to belong to.

Amusingly, the BNP have been using pictures on their websites, of ordinary families, and quotes about why they will be voting BNP. Except of course, that the photos are from different websites, not affiliated with the BNP, and the quotes are made up, by the BNP. You couldn’t make this shit up.

The BNP, last month, held a day to celebrate the work of the armed forces of Britain, and tried to portray themselves as the “only party that supports our troops”.
And so this brings me on to the truly shocking response by the BNP, to the to the heroic British soldier, Lance-Corporal Johnson Beharry.
Born in Grenada, Johnson Beharry is already among the people that the British Nazi National Party consider to be detrimental to British society, given that he’s foreign, and he’s black.
On March 18th 2005, he was awarded the Victoria Cross for valor. A year earlier, whilst driving a Warrior Tracked Armoured Vehicle in Iraq, his vehicle was ambushed; hit by several rocket propelled grenades, the platoon commander along with a number of soldiers were badly injured and radio communication was destroyed along with the periscope – used by the driver to see where he’s going. Beharry therefore, had to open the hatch and drive whilst exposing his face to enemy fire. He drove the broken machine to the edge of the ambush zone, and extracted all of his wounded comrades, to safety, whilst all the time, he himself was exposed to enemy fire.
A month later, in the area of Al Amarah, the convoy was ambushed again. And again, his comrades were badly injured. Beharry himself received serious shrapnel injuries to the face and brain. Despite those serious injuries, he drove to safety, through rocket fire, which in turn, saved the lives of all of his men. He then lost consciousness and had to go through brain surgery.
He was rightfully reward the distinguished Victoria Cross for bravery in the face of such extreme adversity.

A BNP article, stated of Beharry “All he did was drive away very fast from a combat zone.” The article then stated “The politically correct Ministry of Defence decided to elevate this particular occasion to something worthy of the VC.” Suggesting that Beharry was awarded the Victoria Cross, simply because he’s black. Nick Griffin claimed that all Beharry had achieved, was “routine” and then went on to call him an “immigrant“, refusing to acknowledge Beharry’s bravery and courage, saving the lives of many men, for Britain.

They speak of “politically correct Britain“. Yes, I suppose we have become overly politically correct, given that sixty years after the Holocaust, we’re allowing Nazis to represent the British public.
Given that Griffin has spent his life getting grotesquely overweight, and pathetically Hitler-esque in his disgusting views, having fought for nothing, saved no one, promoted racial tension and violence, I’m not sure where he gets the nerve from, to criticise the absolute bravery and honour of a British Soldier. The BNP are not patriotic, nor are they standing up for Britain, they are an ideology. Britain is not based on an ideology. Especially one of such hate and suspicion. The BNP are simply an ideology catering to thugs and those members of society that do not engage brain activity. They absolutely disgust me. For anyone that voted BNP at these Council and E.U elections. You too, disgust me.

British Nazism

February 2, 2009

The sky is falling in England today. Our Country is painted white. Which, is relevant for todays blog.

Not too long ago, at the Labour Party Conference, Gordon Brown made the catastrophic mistake of using the phrase “British jobs for British workers“. You’d be under the impression that he’s bowing to Nationalist pressure. Especially given that the UKs terms for entering the EU in 1973 stated that workers from other member states have the right to work and live in Britain.
The Labour Unions this week, along with their members are on strike, due to key infrustructure work being outsourced to foreign companies, who are refusing to let British Workers in, choosing instead to use their own foreign workers.

As a Liberal, you may be forgiven for assuming i’m going to take the foreigners side on this. Normally, I would. But the fact that they are excluding British workers, purely because they’re British, is no different to the British National Party stating on their website … “.. the introduction of a system of voluntary resettlement whereby those immigrants who are legally here will be afforded the opportunity to return to their lands of ethnic origin...”, and so it is my morality that leads me to support the British workers, not because they are British and deserve British jobs ahead of migrants, far from it. But because they are being discriminated against because they are British.

I am part of an anti-Fascism, anti-BNP group on facebook in which arguments tend to arise quite often between us liberals and those Nationalists. Feel free to join it. Give your opinion. It would be amazingly appreciated.

The problem with statements Gordon Brown chose to make … “British jobs for British people”…. is it just isn’t feesible within a Global economy. And when it doesn’t work out the way it is suggested, disgruntled workers turn to parties like the BNP as a safe haven. Nationalist agendas, built around the flawed logic that one can be “proud” to be a Nationality, as if it’s an achievement rather than pure luck. It fuels the ridiculously weak argument that “Immigrants are taking all our jobs!!”. People start to support them based on their promise of British jobs. They fail to recognise the deeper problem underlining the BNP agenda. Interracial children are referred to as “immoral and tragic”. They do not allow non-white members into their party. They want to deport all non-white Brits whether born here or not. Their senior members include…

  • Nick Griffin, the party leader, given a two year suspended sentence for inciting racial hatred.
  • Colin Smith, the South East London organiser, has 17 convictions including armed robbery and stealing cars.
  • Tony Lecomber, the group development office, convicted of possessing home made hand grenades and attacking a Jewish school teacher for peeling off BNP sticker at an Underground station.
  • Kevin Scott, the North East organiser, convicted for throwing glass at a black guy, purely for being black.
  • Robert Bennett, BNP activist, jailed for gang rape. Also served time for armed robbery
  • Warren Bennett, chief steward, convicted of being a football hooligan and deported from France.
….. these people are starting to pick up support. They pray on the working class victims of New Labour’s shift to the centre. Racial hatred that did not serve in the lives of most working class people, is now being stirred up by neo-Nazis who claim only to be sticking up for White English people. I’m white and English and I certainly don’t need a bunch of thugs claiming to be sticking up for me.

We all have a common ancestor. We were all people before anyone drew a line on a map, and so i’ll always see myself as human before seeing myself as any flawed Nationality.

The paradox of Nationalist concept of freedom is bewildering at the best of times. They continually cite their right to free speech, to incite racial hatred, and yet they want to stop the right of a Muslim lady wearing a burkha. Who’s it hurting? In fact that Burkha is doing less damage to the social progression of our Nation, than a group of White Supremacists are doing with words. One Liverpudlian man went so far as to rip the veil from the face of a Muslim woman. I cannot imagine why a civilised human being would dare put their hands on somebody else and tamper with their freedom. The BNP, obviously, had nothing to say on the matter. Now, if it were the other way around, if that Muslim woman was preaching hatred toward white Brits, the BNP would have gone mad. The paradox of the Nationalist concept of freedom.

Immigrants are needed. Our economy works on the basis of demand and supply. Therefore, if a large number of new people enter the economy, they will need a new TV, Car, House, DVDs, Towels, Bedding etc…. which means demand rises, which means supply has to rise, which means new jobs are created, which gives us a better economic standing. Not only that, but according to the Home Office, a large number of immigrants come over here in their twenties, which means they haven’t used our free schooling system and so have cost us nothing. The moment they start working and paying tax, they are giving to a country that up until then, has given them nothing.
We also have an ageing population. The baby boom generation of the 1950s is getting old. They will soon retire. The ‘dependecy ratio’ , meaning the young generation who works to prop up the pensions of the old generation is becoming out of tune, which means we need immigrants to fill that gap.

Nationalists tend to talk constantly and hypocritically about how they love our culture, and yet I personally haven’t met one of them who can name a great British artist, or when the Protestant reformation that gave birth to the modern era happened, or a war hero from the two world wars, or a poet, or anything that actually resembles knowledge about the civil war; or for that matter, any thing that resembles knowledge about our culture, other than they’re white and born in England. It’s hypocritical bollocks. I’ve met Indian people who know more about our culture than most English Nationalists. It’s shameful. But I expect nothing more from neo-Nazis. It’s hypocritical because the greatest achievement of the past 150 years, was the victory over facism. And yet, these people preach a fascist agenda as being the cornerstone of ‘Englishness’. It isn’t. It’s a lie. It’s utter nonsense.

They also talk about our culture being eroded and how they want to put the ‘GREAT’ back into Great Britain. When were we ever ‘Great’? During the 1900s when children worked in mines? or during WWI when millions died for fuck all. Or the 1920s when we had huge economic difficulties and women couldn’t vote? Or the 1940s during the war? Or the 1950s when you could be banged up for being gay? Or the 1970s when we had the winter of discontent? Or the 1980s when 60% of Liverpools work force was unemployed?

Britain has never been “great”. Britain is ever changing to try to achieve Greatness, that is what is so Great about Britain. It’s ability to constantly update. Nationalists seem to possess a nostalgic feeling, pulling them back to a ‘better time’. I’m unaware of when Britain was better, and has as many opportunities and benefits as it does today, whilst at the same time, free from Government sponsored Gay bashing (Section 28 of Thatcher’s local governance act) and racial discrimination. We’re greater now, than we’ve ever been, because we have accepted that Culture is dynamic, ever changing and updating not static. That’s what makes it’s Liberal population; great.

It’s as if Nationalist would like Evolution to stop now. There stance on interracial relationships is despicable, and that’s even before you consider that we’re all interracial. Our ancestors intermixed over and over again to get to where we are now. It’s how the World has always worked. The mixing of cultures, brings new ideas, new technologies, new medicines, new foods, and new reasons for racial harmony. We are edging much closer to recognising that race doesn’t exist. That we were human before anyone invented the concept of Race or Nationality. Nationalists, do not accept this most liberating of facts.

Nationalists have been known to quote Dr Aiden Rankin, who was a member of the far right and was often quite critical of interracial relationships. They fail to notice however, that Dr Aiden Rankin renounced his far right beliefs, and has since become critical of Nationalism, and a strong supporter of equality of Liberalism. He is quoted as saying recently, in the Guardian…
“far-right racism and the scapegoating of immigrants or refugees, given voice by the British National Party, but believed in by many members of the UK Independence Party, the Eurosceptic groupuscules and the Tory party’s “traditionalist” right. This has always profoundly repelled me, both for its creeping totalitarianism and its simple-minded classification of individuals by race or group.
Soul theft is an accurate depiction of the experience of becoming right-wing. It starts as a vague impression, then progresses – if that is the word – into a world-view; it begins as a bad mood, then becomes a permanent, brooding anger. “

From an enlightened ex-far right winger, that is exactly how those of us on the Left have imagined the far right to be for a long time. Dr Rankin just confirms our apparent correct suspicions beautifully.

One the facebook group, not too long ago, a white supremacist is quoted as saying “If the election system were better representative, England would have a Nationalist government today”. This quote represents the core of the flawed arguments these Nationalists tend to make. According to election 2005 statistics….
    Largely Liberal Parties:
    Labout – 9,562,122 votes
    Tories – 8,772,598
    Lib Dems – 5,981,874
    Green Party – 257,758
    Nationalist Parties:
The British National Party – 192,746
    UKIP – 603,298
I cannot imagine an electoral system that allows a combined Nationalist popular vote of 796,044 to take control over government, and do away with the ‘Liberal agenda’ given that the three main Liberal parties, gained a total of 24,316,594 votes. That would be an incredibly odd system.

Another guy in referring to the stabbing that took place in London this weekend, stated “I see the blacks are stabbing again”. As if he was proving somehow that all black people like to stab. I pointed out that…
Hitler was white and committed genoicide.
Musolini was white and committed murder.
Stalin was white and committed genocide.
Ted Bundy was white and committed serial murder.
Ian Huntley was white and killed two kids.
Roy Whiting was white and raped and killed a child.
Myra Hindley was white and murdered children.
Ian Brady was white and murdered children.
Rose West was white and murdered children.
Fred West was white and murdered children.
….. He then tried to suggest that although all races committ crime, the black race is the most consistant. I do not know what this means. Surely going on statistics, white people make the worst World leaders? And appear to be the most consistant paedophiles going by his logic? The point is, it highlights is just how disastrously unintelligent these Nationalists really are. However, it’s easy to see just how people are taken in by such Nationalist bullshit. And it becomes even easier to see just how people took so strongly to Hitler. Luckily, we’re a strongly Liberal country. It will stay that way for a very long time.

“Nationalism is an infantile disease. It is the measles of mankind.”Einstein.

  • The perils of shopping

    December 17, 2008

Let’s push to one side that fact that I left the house today without a belt on, and so kept having to stop my jeans falling down every 30 seconds whilst walking aimlessly through town searching for Christmas presents that because VAT cut has struck, means when I thought i’m spending £20, i’m actually spending a little less than £19.99. Not only did I save money, 35p altogether!!! I also managed to prevent my trousers falling down, which would have exposed what I like to call my “pride” to the World. Which in turn, would have caused women everywhere to faint in awe. Spawning a wave of Women to leave their partners in the hope of bedding me…………… IT MIGHT HAPPEN!!!!……. maybe……..

Let’s also push aside the fact that I took an incredibly huge gulp of Pepsi from my bottle, and at the exact same time, looked directly into the Sun (not the paper, i’d rather drink my own piss than read that) which caused my eyes to water, prompting a very nice old lady to put her caring hand on my shoulder, and say “are you ok my dear?” As if I’d broken down in the middle of Leicester town centre. To be fair, if there’s ever a place that pushes you to the brink of a breakdown, it’s Leicester.

And finally, let’s push even further aside the fact that when I paid the bus driver the bus fare, instead of saying “cheers”, I rather disturbingly, given my sense of pride in my vocabulary, said “cheese”. Who the fuck, mistakes “cheers” for “cheese”. On a full bus too. Everyone heard. I’m so ashamed.

Amusingly, I saw a bus, with a sign on the back featuring a citizen with a speed gun, encouraging the public to join http://www.bealocalhero.com, I think they were known as the Gestapo in Nazi Germany. Report a Jew. Same concept. Clearly http://www.bealocalcunt.com was taken. Clearly asking the public to help tackle real problems, such as Corporate Greed that has lead to the biggest economic disaster in history, leaving millions unemployed, and destroying lives, is not as important as catching someone driving 34mph in a 30mph zone. The thing that got me, is that our car was travelling at 30mph, the speed limit, whilst the bus with this sign on, over took us. How ironic.

Apart from that, I had quite a successful Christmas shopping trip.
    Cheese for reading.

    The British Culture War

    November 30, 2008

The bandwagon at the moment seems to be, quite arrogantly and horribly misinformed, a version of…….
“Britishness doesn’t exist any more! It’s been destroyed by the immigrants and New Labour!”
About a year ago, I probably would have agreed, but i’ve got older, smarter, and above all, less cretinous.

    Nationalism:
I wonder if all of those who claim our ‘culture’ is dying could name, without searching on google, a great British Artist? A great British musician from the classical era? A great British commander from the War days? The date that India gained independence from the British Empire? The last ten Prime Ministers? The last four Monarchs? A great British war poet? The date that England became Church of England? A great battle in WWII that finally pushed the Germans back? I doubt it. Because “culture” in Britain no longer means any of that, “Culture” means getting pissed every Friday night.

    Britishness to me:
To me, now, Britishness is changing every day. Which is a great thing. It moves with the times. We don’t allow religion to mix with our Politics. Belief isn’t “If you’re not Christian, you’re not welcome” in our Country. Although, this gives rise to a new hypocritical sense of Nationalism that is becoming an increasingly dangerous thing.
What you may find Britishness inside, I may see it differently, and so Britishness can never be a static, universal truth. I like it like that.

Places like Iran, stick to outdated religious principles. Unwilling to change with the times. The great thing about Britain is that the majority of us (I accept some remain ignorant) are happy to move with the times, to accept the different cultures that have contributed such a valuable amount to our society, and our economy.
We aren’t the culture of top hats and “how do you do”.
We aren’t the tea drinking nation.
We aren’t any other stereotypical view of Britain. We’re a huge cultural mixture. Who (regardless of how the media like to hype the situation) understanding of others beliefs and we’re willing to talk, relate to and befriend people regardless of their beliefs and opinions.
We’re White, we’re Black, we’re Asian, we’re straight, we’re gay, we’re men, we’re women and it has absolutely no affect on our every day life.
Britishness is not static, it isn’t like a religious belief that cannot be changed. Britishness updates every single second. It’s a constantly working mechanism that, if embraced, can cope with all the pressures of multiculturalist England today.

It would appear that the top hat wearing, tea drinking, small corner shop family run business owning,”cheery-o chap” speaking British ways have long since died. It isn’t because of immigration and it has very little, if nothing to do with New Labour. It has to do with the changing nature of humanity.
    - You and I both don’t wear tradition British Clothing, because American jeans like Levi, and hoodies sporting “Greenday” logos are the fashion now.
    - I don’t want to wear a top hat and say “Good day to you madam”.

New Labour didn’t open the gates. Conservative Open Market policies did that. It doesn’t take a genius to work out that when a rich prosperous country opens it’s gates to foreign investment, people are going to start to move country. If you want a wide variety of choice with regard to the products you buy, expect large numbers of immigrants offering that choice. You can’t have it both ways. PLEASE try and understand this, for the sake of intelligent thought.

The small family run tradition British businesses, the grocers, the small video rental shops, struggle to exist in a place where Tesco and John Lewis rule the waves. You can blame big business for this.

For the people who insist that “Britishness doesn’t exist”, I’d like to know what drastic changes have occured in your every day life, that have made you a little less British and a little more Polish, or Pakistani, or Indian? And then, go back into your ignorant minds and count all the aspects of your life that are actually American influenced.

And then of course, there are those who insist that England has gone “PC mad”.

    Political Correctness:
Certain phrases that have found their way into our language in order to appear more “understanding”, for example if I were to suggest that because i’m losing my hair, in order to reduce the risk of offending me, instead of saying i’m balding, i’d prefer you used the term follicle regression, would indeed, take the piss.
If half the dirty old men in on the planet decided that they hate that term, and prefer the term “gender enthusiastic geriatric”, we’d laugh at them, because it’s ridiculous.

To me, that’s what political correctness is. Taking something that wasn’t offensive in the first place, and claiming it was TOO offensive.
    Mankind, suddenly becomes Human Kind.
    Housewife suddenly becomes homemaker.

When you use the term “paki” to describe anyone who happens to have an Asian complexion, you aren’t exercising a form of anti-policial correctness, you’re exercising ignorance, cuntishness, and above all, you’re starting to prove the case for the rest of the World hating us.
When you try to justify such ignorance as “well, it’s just like calling me a brit!!”, you have delved beyond the realms of ignorance, and infact, deserve to be shot.

When you use any kind of intended abuse, to personally attack someone, you cannot hide behind “omg, this country is so fucking politically correct!!” or “I’m just being honest!!” in a lame attempt to justify your ridiculous point of view…….. You cannot defend yourself.

When one Muslim woman complains that a British Flag offends her. That is one Muslim woman. It isn’t Islam on the whole. It’s like saying Ian Huntley is a white British man, so therefore all white British men must be paedophile child killers. If you then accuse all Muslims of being anti-British, then those same Muslims have a right to come up to you and express the view, through the media, across the World, that all British Women like to kill children and bury them on the Moors, because Myra Hindley did. I very much doubt you’d be banging on about their right to be politically incorrect then, you’d be disgusted.

People seem to think that “free speech” entitles you to be a cunt, and then not have to deal with the consequences. Free speech means you can say what you want, but you must deal with the problems inevitably faced by your ignorance. Don’t back away from it. And don’t hide behind a horrible cliche like “politically correct”. Freedom of Speech has consequences. You do indeed have the freedom to say whatever you want to say, there is nothing stopping you. But have to guts to deal with the subsequent problems you have caused.

Political Correctness hasn’t got “out of hand”, it isn’t worse than it’s ever been. Ignorance is on the rise. This new breed of arrogant Nationalism is on the rise. Too many people think they can be as offensive as they like and they’ll somehow gain support and not have to explain themselves deeper, not have to give it any intelligent thought, if they just use “I hate political correctness!” to justify their own unjustifiable prejudices. I don’t know if it’s a post-Empire thing, but it seems a high number of Brits have decided that Britain is the God of all Countries.

There is an odd thing happening. The British public seem to be paying an unusual amount of time to the Media, and so jumping on the bandwagon portrayed at the time.
The Sun – “Gordon Brown is wonderful”
The public – “YEAH! GO GORDON!!!”
The Sun – “Actually he’s a bit shit”
The public – “Yeah BOOO GORDON!”

It takes away any individual thought. I would like to see more people forming their own opinions, understanding that the media is controlled, they are private enterprises, and so, full of bias. I would like people to, instead of jumping to an illogical conclusion, research both sides of an argument and then come to a well rounded, well thought out opinion. It may agree with your initial jumped-to conclusion, it may change your mind completely, like the whole “Britishness” debate has for me. But it’s the only credible way you will answer a deep question such as the one surrounding the British Culture War.

It is people who think in this regressive, nazi-esque way, who destroy the country, no one else.
